Job description
We are recruiting a Client Relations Apprentice to join the European TOEFL team on a work-study/apprenticeship contract, starting at the end of August or September 2026.
Based in the Paris office, with regular travel across France and occasional travel within Europe, the apprentice will support the South Western Europe team in delivering student recruitment, university outreach and marketing activities, in parallel with their academic training.
Main Duties
Student Recruitment & Event Support
- Support the planning, coordination and execution of student recruitment events, education fairs, conferences and institutional events across France and Europe.
- Represent TOEFL at external events by engaging with prospective students, educational institutions and partners.
- Contribute to event logistics, travel arrangements, booth setup, promotional materials and post-event reporting.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of multiple events during peak recruitment periods.
University Outreach & Institutional Engagement
- Support relationships with schools, universities and higher education institutions.
- Assist in organizing and delivering presentations, workshops and information sessions for students and educators.
- Coordinate with educational institutions regarding event participation and outreach opportunities.
- Prepare presentation materials and supporting documentation.
Customer Relations
- Provide customer support to prospective test takers via email and phone.
- Respond to enquiries related to TOEFL products and services.
- Support institutional customers, including assistance with bulk orders and operational requests.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service while resolving enquiries efficiently.
Marketing & Campaign Support
- Assist in the planning and execution of seasonal marketing campaigns and promotional activations.
- Coordinate marketing materials and campaign assets.
- Support cross-functional campaign implementation with internal teams and external agencies.
- Assist in monitoring campaign performance and reporting.
Digital Content & Communications
- Support the updating of digital messaging across TOEFL communication channels.
- Assist with website content updates, campaign launches and promotional messaging.
- Contribute to social media content creation and visibility initiatives.
- Ensure content remains accurate, consistent and aligned with current campaigns.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Gather, analyse and report market intelligence related to higher education, student mobility and competitor activity.
- Support post-event reporting and campaign analysis.
- Monitor trends and identify opportunities within the education sector.
Operational & Administrative Support
- Assist with project coordination and administrative activities.
- Manage multiple priorities and contribute to cross-functional projects.
- Provide operational support during peak recruitment periods.

The candidate must be based/study in France
Preferred experience / Education / Job requirements
- Currently preparing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, International Relations, Sales, Languages or a related field.
- Must be enrolled in a recognised work-study/apprenticeship programme related to Marketing, Business Administration, International Relations, Sales, Languages or a similar field.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with students, educators and institutional partners.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Customer-focused with a proactive problem-solving approach.
- Interest in higher education, international student recruitment and marketing.
- Understanding of the French and European higher education landscape is desirable.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel regularly across France and occasionally within Europe.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends during recruitment events and peak activity periods.
Language required
- Excellent command of French, both spoken and written,
- Minimum C1 level in English (written and spoken).
- Additional European languages are a plus.
