About GIIGNL

GIIGNL – the International Group of LNG Importers – is a global non-profit association bringing together more than 90 member companies across all major LNG markets.

It provides a unique international platform for sharing expertise, market intelligence and best practices across the LNG value chain. At a time when LNG is playing an increasingly strategic role in global energy security, GIIGNL operates at the heart of a fast-moving market shaped by major geopolitical, commercial and environmental challenges.

About the team

The successful candidate will join GIIGNL's central office team, a small and collaborative group consisting of the General Delegate, a Communications Officer, and a Market Analyst. The team is responsible for producing GIIGNL's annual report, periodical publications, webinars, and knowledge-sharing sessions with industry experts. We organize study groups, industrial meetings, and the General Assembly, and actively participate in high-level industry events, sharing insights and contributing to discussions shaping the LNG market. This role offers exposure to cross-functional work and the opportunity to contribute directly to member-facing deliverables and analytical outputs.

Location & Work Arrangement

The position is based at GIIGNL’s central office in Neuilly-sur-Seine, conveniently located between Paris and La Défense, next to Pont de Neuilly metro station on Metro Line 1. A hybrid work arrangement, including occasional remote working, may be possible depending on the team’s needs and activities.

Occasional travel may also be required to support events, webinars or high-level industry meetings.

Internship Period

This is a six-month paid internship, from January to June 2027. Some flexibility on the exact start and end dates may be considered depending on the candidate’s academic calendar.

Role Purpose

GIIGNL is seeking a paid LNG Analyst Intern to support the association’s market analysis, publications and member-facing deliverables. The role combines rigorous data analysis with the preparation of high-quality insights, presentations and analytical materials shared with GIIGNL members and industry stakeholders.

As part of a small and highly international team, the intern may also contribute to the organization of events and selected communication activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the production of GIIGNL's Annual Report, performing detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis across the entire LNG value chain.
  • Manage and maintain internal databases, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and usability for analysis and reporting.
  • Prepare presentations and analytical deliverables for market insights or specific LNG topics, translating complex data into clear, member-facing outputs.
  • Monitor LNG market news and developments, analyze trends, and contribute to publishing updates on GIIGNL's website.
  • Support events and meetings, including preparing presentation materials, assisting in-person during events, and coordinating with the team as needed.

Required Competencies and Skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and rigor; the role involves highly detailed, precise analysis and reporting.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken is required, as all communication and deliverables are in English.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to perform both data-driven and qualitative analysis.
  • Proficiency in Excel and/or other data analysis tools; familiarity with databases and data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Ability to prepare clear, visually compelling presentations and analytical deliverables.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a small, dynamic team.
  • Proactive, curious, and willing to learn about LNG markets and industry trends.

Nice-to-have

  • Previous experience in energy, LNG, gas or commodity markets.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) to enhance the way GIIGNL shares insights with members.
  • Experience with database management and data automation (e.g., Excel macros, Python scripts) to streamline reporting and analysis.

Application Process

This internship is a 6-month position, ideally starting in January 2027. Our Annual Report production takes place during February–April 2027, and availability throughout this period is a hard requirement for the role. Please indicate your availability clearly in your CV; applications that do not confirm availability for February–April 2027 will not be considered.

Interested candidates should submit:

  • A CV / résumé highlighting relevant education, experience, and skills.
  • A cover letter explaining interest in LNG, GIIGNL, and how their skills match the role.
